12-euro aid per day for those working in sectors closed because of coronavirus

A government project has been prepared, providing for workers on unpaid leave to receive daily aid. The compensation will apply to sectors that have been temporarily restricted in their operations due to Covid-19.

Workers will have the right to use the help for no more than two months. In case of an eight-hour working day, the assistance will be BGN 24 (about 12 EUR) per day, and in case of part-time work it will be determined according to the hours worked. The initial intentions of the government were to use the aid to help nearly 50 thousand people involved in ancillary activities in education, as well as tour operators and restaurants.
