40% of all schoolgoers in the country have switched to online learning

At today’s Council of Ministers meeting, Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev stated that the introduction is being discussed of mandatory mask-wearing in class for schoolchildren from the 5th to the 12th grade who have not switched to online learning.

Commenting on distance learning, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stated that when children spend long spells at home that has a negative impact on them, and spoke up for the local approach in making the decision for online learning. At the moment 40% of all pupils have switched to online learning by a decision of the local and municipal coronavirus task forces.
