“Bulgaria is temporarily suspending its support for the Republic of North Macedonia and will not give its consent for the holding of the first inter-governmental conference until it is given clear guarantees of a change in Skopje’s policy towards our country in a legally binding document,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva stated during a parliamentary hearing.

Deputy Prime Minister Krasimir Karakachanov added, addressing the MPs, that the alternative the Republic of North Macedonia faces is either to alter its behavior, or to repeat the scenario of the 28 year-long wait before an accord was reached with Greece.
