Social partners to discuss minimum wage for 2021 at online meeting

The National Council for Tripartite Cooperation will hold an online meeting today to discuss a draft decree of the Council of Ministers determining the amount of the minimum wage for the country, the government press center announced. Representatives of the government, employers' organizations and trade unions are expected to take part in the meeting.

Some employers want a freeze on the minimum wage in 2021, arguing that the country's GDP in 2020 has been dropping due to the crisis.
According to the government, raising the minimum wage from 312 to 332 euros is an anti-crisis measure that will increase spending and budget revenues.
