Socialists: Budget 2021 is inadequate

Photo: BGNES

The BSP asked the government to withdraw the draft state budget for next year, which is being discussed by parliament today. The proposal was made by party leader Cornelia Ninova, who said the current texts were "inadequate" because they did not include socio-economic measures for businesses and households that would suffer from the upcoming lockdown. Ninova recalled that a one-month deadline, approved by parliament, had been in place since October 22nd, during which the cabinet was to update the national pandemic action plan. However, this had not been done, our reporter Marta Mladenova informed.

The National Assembly rejected the proposal of the left and continued its work on approving the 2021 budget.
