Today at the order of the Municipality of Ohrid, the Bulgarian monument on the shores of Ohrid Lake that was desecrated has been restored. This was announced by the Mayor of Ohrid Konstantin Georgieski in his Facebook profile.

The monument was unveiled in memory of 15 Bulgarian tourists who lost their lives on September 5, 2009 in the sinking of the Ilinden ship, BGNES reported. A "stylized drop" with intertwined 15 metal roses in memory of the tragic incident had been destroyed.

The act of vandalism was condemned by both the Foreign Ministries of Bulgaria and North Macedonia earlier today.
