Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Yotova and Belgian Ambassador Frédéric Meurice have spoken about the European future of the Western Balkans and Bulgaria's position on North Macedonia. Ambassador Meurice also represents Belgium in North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo.

Bulgaria is the best lobbyist for the EU Membership of these countries. "But we have unresolved issues with North Macedonia. Our mistake is that we have not been able to explain our national position to the European partners well enough,” Yotova said. The Vice President says that Bulgaria will not allow sovereignty and identity to be built on the back of Bulgarian history, BGNES has reported.
