Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has inspected the rehabilitation of the road to the Rila Monastery. A 150 m long retaining wall has been built to fortify a section of the road which was blocked by a landslide at the beginning of the year. The inspection was broadcast online on Borissov's Facebook page.

"I want it to look like a postcard here - when people come for worship in this holy monastery, there should be nothing that has been left uncompleted" said the prime minister.

The Rila Monastery is one of the most important cultural monuments in Bulgaria. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was founded in the 10th century by the heavenly protector of the Bulgarian people St. John of Rila the Wonderworker (Saint Ivan Rilski).
