Natural gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria are beginning as of today, 31 December.
Until 1 October, 2021, the gas will flow via the Nea Mesimvria point in Greece’s gas transmission system. After that it will pass along the Komotini-Makaza gas interconnection Greece – Bulgaria (IGB).
Under the contract concluded, Bulgargaz is to receive 1 billion cubic metres of natural gas a year from the Shah Deniz 2 gas field over a period of 25 years, the BTA reports.
