13% of Covid-19 test results are positive

340 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the past 24 hours after a total of 2585 tests performed. 181 of the positive cases were registered with PCR and 159 with antigen tests, official data show. This means that 13% of tested samples returned positive result. The highest number of newly infected people is in Sofia - 94, followed by Ruse - 23, Pleven - 21, the Sofia region - 19, Plovdiv -18 and Varna - 18. A total of 1,124 people have recovered and 40 people died. 4,786 patients are being treated in hospital as 458 of them are in intensive care wards. The number of positive cases since the beginning of the epidemic has reached 202,880 and the active cases are 73,769. The number of vaccinated people remains 4,739 as no new vaccinations were performed in the past day.
