There will be three ways for people born after 31 December 1959 to receive their second retirement pensions – as a lump sum, in installments or as a life annuity.
This was voted by the National Assembly, at first reading, as an amendment to the Social Insurance Code. The three ways are: a life old-age pension, payment from the individual lots in installments, and lump-sum payment in those cases when the money accumulated does not suffice for any one of the prior modes of payment.
The opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party and Movement for Rights and Freedoms abstained with the motive that the Financial Supervision Commission rejects the bill.
