Bulgaria’s Prosecutor's Office has seized 1,418 paintings and 45 graphics from the home of Bulgarian businessman Vasil Bozhkov, who is living in self-imposed exile in Dubai, the website of the Prosecutor's Office announced.
Paintings of famous Bulgarian artists such as Vladimir Dimitrov- the Master, Dechko Uzunov and others are among the works of art seized by the Prosecutor’s Office. The seized works of art have been entrusted to the National Art Gallery for safe keeping in compliance with the approved rules.
In 2020, another 6,778 items seized from Bozhkov’s home, which appear to be movable cultural property, were taken to the National Museum of History for storage. Businessman Vasil Bozhkov has been charged with involvement in an organized crime group and a number of other crimes.
