There has been a lot of talk about the number of Bulgarians abroad. Many people say that 2 to 3 million Bulgarians live abroad, which is not true. There are less than 1 million Bulgarian voters abroad, Professor Mihail Konstantinov, head of the state-owned company Information Services, told BNT.

The main problem concerning voting abroad is the great uncertainty created by the pandemic situation in different countries. "We should start thinking what to do immediately. Polling stations must be opened in places where voters make the necessary requests," Professor Konstantinov explained. It will become clear that there are 3.5 million voters in Bulgaria, if the authorities update the electoral lists, contends the Bulgarian mathematician.
