Unfortunately, very few European countries can be proud of their history during World War 2, when it comes to Jews. Bulgaria is a unique example of decency, moral strength and courage, because unlike most of Europe, it stood up to the Nazis, reads a letter of the President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder, published in "Trud" daily.

The so-called Lukov March is an embarrassment to Bulgaria, wrote Ronald Lauder. "As a friend of Bulgaria, I very much hope that all Bulgarians repudiate the rise of xenophobic, far-right nationalism and, instead, continue down the path that has earned them the admiration of all good people throughout the world," wrote Lauder.
