Unique quantum engine is being developed in Varna

We are developing a fundamentally new quantum engine for ships and spacecraft, Nikolay Markov from the Hydro- and Aerodynamics Center at the “Acad. Al. Balevski” Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has reported.

We have been working on the innovative technology for 2 years now and it has no analogue. "Normal internal combustion engines have pistons. We're trying to turn every molecule into a piston." Ammonia gas molecules are used. At speeds close to the speed of light, quantum tunneling is achieved.

The quantum engine is still in research phase, but is attracting interest. Scientists work on the project in cooperation with the University of London and laboratories from Switzerland and Hungary.
