Multimedia, a combination of sound, light, animation and a smoke show is to present the development of the “Holy Spirit” fortress through the ages. The fortress is located in Mineralni Bani resort village near Haskovo.
Having been founded in the 2nd century, the fortress was inhabited right up to the 11th century. Its walls have been preserved up to a height of 3.5 metres, and are up to 2 metres thick in places. In the 12th century a necropolis grew over the territory of the “Holy Spirit”. During excavations archaeologists found huge amounts of jewellery.
In the spring the fortress will spring back to life with a spectacular light show. A special multimedia tower has been put up for the purpose which will provide the sound and light for the show. Recreation areas as well as an events zone will be organized in the vicinity of the fortress, along with open-air performances and tourist attractions, the local administration says.
