Volunteers from the youth organization of the Bulgarian Red Cross in Dobrich will try to enter the Guinness Book of Records with the longest martenitsa. In the early morning of March 1, the young Bulgarians will begin to unfold the 20-kilometer-long martenitsa at the local town square. At noon, it will become clear whether the volunteers from the BRC will break the world record.
Currently, the world’s largest martenitsa is almost 17 kilometers long. The volunteers were preparing for today's event for 8 months.
