Bulgaria’s writer, poet and playwright Georgi Gospodinov has received the Usedom Literature Prize. The Usedom Literature Prize has been awarded since 2011 within the frameworks of the Usedom Literature Days on the island of Usedom, divided between Germany and Poland.
“Georgi Gospodinov is a significant and unique voice in the European literature. His works are based on the best traditions of the Central European Prose and its indestructible need to uncover new layers of human experience”, read the motifs of the jury headed by Olga Tokarczuk, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize for Literature.
