The Sofia Administrative Court has canceled instructions of the Central Election Commission that were banning video recording and live broadcasting of vote counting after the end of election day on April 4th. The reasons of the court state that "the polling station is a public place and anyone who participates in the process can take pictures after the end of the election day. This is in accordance with the law and the instructions of CEC for ensuring transparency and objectivity of the election process."
The court does not share the opinion that participants in the election process who are not part of the media must not film the counting. The ruling of the court is not final and can be appealed against within a period of 14 days, BGNES reported.
