Journalist Georgi Koritarov dies aged 61

“We can outline, as principal events and tendencies at these elections, the slap in the face which voters gave the far-right nationalist formations. It does not look like any of the parties, mouthpieces of national-chauvinistic ambitions are going to enter the next parliament,” that was how journalist Georgi Koritarov commented the initial results of the elections for parliament.

Today, the well-known journalist passed away suddenly at the age of 61. He started his career at the first newspaper of democratic change – Demokratsia (Democracy) in 1990, in 1992 he started work at Radio Free Europe, first as a political reporter and then as anchor. He has also been TV anchor for Nova and TV Europe.

May he rest in peace!
