Bulgaria's Bansko ski resort to close winter season

Many people from different countries in Western Europe have rediscovered Bulgaria's ski resort Bansko during the past winter season. However, the skiers were about 50% less than previous years, Ivan Obreykov, marketing director of the Bansko ski area, told BNT.

According to him, Italians, Germans, Austrians and all those who could not ski elsewhere chose Bansko in this season. All of them are the future ambassadors for the resort, which would bring other people, Obreykov believes.

Currently the slopes above Bansko are full of skiers.

The season will officially close on Sunday, April 11, but without the traditional veteran ski race.
