Easter Music Festival starts in Bulgaria's coastal city Varna

The State Opera in Varna is renewing today, April 10, its regular program with a production of Puccini's masterpiece Tosca, FOCUS News Agency reported. The performance marks the beginning of the 21st edition of its Easter Music Festival, with one of the best directorial interpretations of Kuzman Popov.

Maestro Luciano Di Martino, artistic and deputy director of the Plovdiv State Opera, has been invited as conductor. The maestro has conducted on the most prestigious stages in Germany, Italy, Russia and other countries.

As part of the spring music festival, on April 17, the Varna Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a concert, under the baton of the famous Bulgarian conductor Pavel Balev, chief conductor of the Baden-Baden Philharmonic and chief artistic director of the Carl Flesch International Summer Academy.
