The campaign for planting trees across Bulgaria of gorata.bg continues this weekend. Despite the pandemic, 130 municipalities have joined the initiative so far.

Since its beginning this spring, volunteers have been given about 100,000 trees of 14 tree species - oak, beech, pine, birch, acacia, linden and others.
"The good thing is that at least 50,000 of these trees are fruitful and honey-bearing - plums, cherries, apples, apricots, etc.," Nikola Rakhnev of gorata.bg, organizer of the campaign over the years, told the BNR.

Volunteers are planning to plant more trees by the end of the season, which will bring their total number to more than 300,000.

With them, for a period of 9 years, the total number of trees planted by the platform will become 1 million and 400 thousand.
