Despite the anti-epidemic measures and the colder weather this spring, citizens of Sofia often go for walks in streets, parks and city gardens, enjoying the sun and the trees and bushes that have slowly started to green. In April, Sofia shakes off its gray winter look to welcome the colors of spring. The compositions of spring flowers, which will bring joy to Sofia residents and tourists in the coming weeks, are spread over an area of more than 1 hectare across the city. Most of the flower beds will decorate parks and city gardens, the Sofia municipality reports.

Tulips and violets are most numerous this year. More than 200,000 tulips have been planted in Sofia, as some of which were imported from the Netherlands. In addition, 5,200 pansies and daisies, 300,000 roses and more than 2,000 perennial shrubs, will bring more color and good mood into Sofia.

The most spectacular compositions of pink tulips and pansies will bloom in front of the National Palace of Culture and a walk across the Lovers Bridge nearby will reveal a view to circles of evergreen shrubs combined with white and pink tulips. Various varieties of white tulips in combination with white and pink daisies have been planted along "Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi" Boulevard in the capital city.

Colorful compositions and rows of ornamental grasses, perennial and annual flowers and evergreen shrubs will be seen along “Botevgradsko Shosse” Blvd. and will accompany those entering Sofia from this direction for a few kilometers.
