The new Temporary Parliamentary Committee, which has been set up to inspect spending of Bulgarian governments in the past 10 years, is going to work on nine priority areas. This became clear after the committee’s first sitting. The committee’s chairperson Maya Manolova announced that Premier Borissov’s government, which has been in charge in the past 4 years, would be subject to inspections first.

The funds spent with decrees of the Council of Ministers, the money spent on measures to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, the road construction sector, the national programme for energy efficiency, the Turk Stream project, Bulgartransgaz company and the Bulgarian Development Bank will be subject to inspection.

The committee will work closely with NGOs, journalists and experts, announced Maya Manolova.
