Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev has launched the presidential initiative "Let's plant a tree, let's revive the Bulgarian forest" in Plana Mountain close to Sofia, announced the press center of the presidency. The initiative carries out afforestation activities in various places across the country with the support of schools, NGOs and volunteers twice a year - in spring and autumn.
“Bulgarian forests are not only a national treasure. They are also part of our national memory and identity and it is no coincidence that they are enshrined in the Bulgarian Constitution” noted President Radev. "It is our common duty to protect the Bulgarian forest from illegal logging," said Bulgaria’s head of state and thanked all volunteers who are planting trees all over the country today.
