International Festival of South-East European Dramaturgy begins in Sofia

A series of readings, reading performances, discussions and networking events are to take place between May 12 and 16 at the Goethe-Institute Bulgaria. They are held within the frameworks of the three-year international project New Stages South-East, aiming at highlighting and supporting new dramaturgy in the region and encouraging cross-border exchange in the field

The festival will also host the tenth edition of the ProText platform of "36 Monkeys" Organization for Contemporary Alternative Art and Culture, which will present new Bulgarian plays selected by the international network for drama in translation EURODRAM.

New Stages Southeast is a regional project of the Goethe-Institutes in Sofia, Bucharest, Thessaloniki, Athens, Belgrade, Nicosia and Zagreb.
