Bulgaria is to host the 9th edition of the large-scale environmental campaign “Books for Waste”. Nine Bulgarian cities host the initiative this year. It will be held on two weekends in May and June. The campaign begins today in the towns of Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, and Stara Zagora. On May 16 (Sunday) the campaign will be held in Plovdiv and Ruse. On June 5, the event will be held in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia and the second-largest city Plovdiv. On June 6, the Books for Waste campaign will be held in Burgas and Kyustendil. The initiative takes place between 10.00 am and 13.00 pm.

Anyone wishing to join the campaign can bring unsoiled recyclable plastics for which they will receive a book of their choice or other surprises. The first edition of the environmental campaign took place in 2013. Since then, more than 80 tons of plastic wastes have been recycled and tens of thousands of books were handed out to citizens, announced the organizers of the initiative.
