Caretaker cabinet seeks to increase revenues with a focus on large taxpayers

Pavel Tonev has been appointed Director of the National Customs Agency, Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev announced at a press-conference. The head of the National Revenue Agency Galya Dimitrova was released due to weak revenue collection. Rumen Spetsov has been appointed Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency. His task is to increase revenues with a focus on large taxpayers, explained Minister Vassilev.

Assen Vassilev mentioned that by the end of 2021, Bulgaria may have to issue a new debt to the tune of up to EUR 1.8 billion euros. In his words, more details will be announced in several days, BGNES reported
