In an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Yotova emphasized Radio Bulgaria’s essential role in terms of communication with Bulgarians abroad. “We are very good partners and come up with very good initiatives while competing with each other”, noted Vice President Yotova. Iliana Yotova thanked the Bulgarian National Radio for providing gratuitous lessons to Bulgarians from Spanish-speaking countries, who have been studying their mother tongue for several months now.

Vice President Yotova also told details about some online initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative “Bulgaria Awoken” encourages Bulgarians abroad to speak about their connection with their motherland in video letters. More than 500 children from the Bulgarian community abroad joined the virtual forum “Naked are all people without books”. They recited poems on occasion of the Day of Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, noted Vice President Yotova. “We also launched meetings with Bulgarian intellectuals abroad”, added Bulgaria’s Vice President.
