The Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office will ask the United States for more specific information about the corrupt practices that led to sanctions against former MP Delyan Peevski, businessman Vassil Bozhkov who resides in Dubai, Ilko Zhelyazkov, the former Deputy Chief of the Bulgarian State Agency for Technical Operations who was appointed to the National Bureau for Control on Special Intelligence-Gathering Devices, former chairman of the Agency for Bulgarians Abroad Petar Haralampiev, the agency’s secretary Krassimir Tomov and former Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Manolev, the Chief Prosecutor’s spokesperson Siika Mileva said.

Mileva added the prosecution fully supported the US partners when it came to the notion that the rule of law should be at the heart of any democracy.

Today, the caretaker government set up a working group to prevent Bulgarian companies with state and municipal participation from falling within the scope of sanctions imposed by the US Department of Treasury.
