An inaccurate translation of the words of the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Mustafa Karadayi, at his meeting with the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament was what provoked sharp reactions in Bulgaria. This is what MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk has told BNR

Karadayi said "the homeland of the Bulgarian Turks is the land where they were born", which is Bulgaria. They see Turkey as their ancestral home. The same can be said about the ethnic Bulgarians living in Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Outlands who say that the ancestral home is Bulgaria "But they live in present-day Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, and no one questions their loyalty."

According to Kyuchyuk there is no doubt about the loyalty of MRF to Bulgaria.
