Burglaries usually take place between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., when most homes are unattended, police said. The occasion is the third edition of the "EU-wide Focus Day on Domestic Burglary” campaign, which takes place on June 16. The aim is to raise citizens' awareness of countermeasures. The campaign is organized by the European Crime Prevention Network /EUCPN/.

Despite the decline during the pandemic, burglaries have a large share in criminal statistics. Most affected are homes at lower floors. It is recommended that we do not let street vendors and people providing services in our homes, as many are informants of thieves, the police warns.
