Steam locomotive departs for romantic walk from Gorna Oryahovitsa station

This morning a steam locomotive will depart from Gorna Oryahovitsa (Central Northern Bulgaria) for the town of Plachkovtsi (Central Bulgaria). In 2021, United Europe celebrates the year of railway transport, which is why the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) provide travellers with the opportunity to experience the emotion of steam locomotive travel.

The train will consist of six cars with compartments and another dining car, stopping at the stations in Veliko Tarnovo, Dryanovo, Tsareva Livada and Tryavna.

In the area of ​​Plachkovtsi station passengers will be able to see a recently restored steam engine and get acquainted with interesting facts from the history of Bulgaria’s railway transport.
