The road to the Dancing Bears Park in Belitsa has reopened after the traffic disruption yesterday when a thirty-five-year old woman was attacked by a bear near the Dancing Bears Park, reported the Bulgarian National Television. The mayor of Belitsa Municipality Radoslav Revanski said he was waiting for an order from the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry to shoot the aggressive bear before another incident occurred.

However, more than 9,000 people have signed an Internet petition against the shooting of the protected species. According to experts, the animal attacked the young woman, because it felt threatened.
