Biased use of information obtained through special intelligence means and the abuse of the powers of the Witness Protection Bureau are among the reasons why caretaker Justice Minister Yanaki Stoilov yesterday demanded the early dismissal from his post of the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev. This was announced by the Minister to BNT, specifying that there is no great chance that the current composition of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) will rule positively on the submitted signal.

"However, this puts the members of the SJC in a position to show whether they are independent," he said.
When asked why he contacted the institution at the end of the mandate of the caretaker cabinet, Yanaki Stoilov answered that he received the information only on July 14. He added that it is possible to administer specialized criminal justice without a Specialized Criminal Court.
