Polina Trifonova starts with victory in Tokyo

At the Olympics, the day for Bulgarian athletes started with a victory and losses. In the table tennis qualifiers, Polina Trifonova eliminated Cameroon's Sarah Hanffou with 4: 1 and in the first round of the main draw she will face Sarah de Nutte from Luxembourg.

Judoka Yanislav Gerchev was eliminated in the round of 16 in the category up to 60 kg. The Bulgarian lost with an "ipon" in the overtime of a match against the Taiwanese judoka Yang Yung-wei .

Two-time European badminton champions Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva lost 1: 2 their first match in the Olympics against the representatives of South Korea Kim So-yeong and Kong Hee-yong.

In his debut at the Olympics, gymnast David Huddlestone played with an ankle injury on all six apparatuses, but failed to overcome the qualifications.
