Weather forecast for Bulgaria for August 5, 2021

Orange code for dangerous heat over most of the country on Thursday

It will be mostly sunny in Bulgaria on Thursday. Rain showers are expected in the western parts in the afternoon hours. Hailstorms are also possible. Daytime temperatures will be on the rise as highs will reach 36 °C to 41 °C, in Sofia up to 38 °C.

Along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast it will also be sunny during the day. Maximum temperatures will range between 29 °C on Cape Shabla in the north to 32 °C in the southern coastline in Ahtopol. The temperature of the sea water will be at 25 °C -28 °C. 

Plenty of sunshine is also expected in the Bulgarian mountains. A moderate, temporarily strong westerly wind in the highest parts will bring clouds and over the mountain massifs of Western Bulgaria intermittent showers are expected. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be up to 34 °C, at 2,000 meters - around 25 °C. In the resorts of Borovets and Pamporovo highs will reach 33 °C,  in Bansko up to 36 °C.
