Bulgartransgaz to pay fine over Balkan Stream project

The contracts of Bulgarian gas operator Bulgartransgaz for the design, construction and financing of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline project had been signed without prior permission from the energy regulator, which was in violation of the Energy Act. This is what an inspection in the state-controlled enterprise, carried out by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, has shown. Due to these violations a sanction totalling EUR 218,532 has been imposed.
