The massive fire which broke out in the emblematic Dome buidling in the central part of Blagoevgrad (Southwestern Bulgaria) has been brought under control. The fire destroyed part of the building in the morning hours of September 5. No people were reported injured during the accident. All occupants managed to self-evacuate. The fire most likely broke out in a disco club located in the iconic building.

A restaurant and a nightclub also suffered damages. The fire started to spread towards the nearby residential buildings. This is the largest fire on record in the town of Blagoevgrad. The building was severely damaged. The reasons behind the massive fire are still unclear.
