At the last sitting of the National Assembly ad hoc committee on establishing facts and circumstances connected with the actions and inactions of the competent Bulgarian authorities in relation to the sanctions imposed on Bulgarian individuals and legal entities by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States Treasure Department on the basis of the Global Magnitsky Act, the MPs unanimously decided to ask the special services to check whether members of the 46th National Assembly were officially funded by persons sanctioned under the Global Magnitsky or related persons.
Vasil Bozhkov, Delyan Peevski and Ilko Zhelyazkov, as well as dozens of companies are in this list. Due to the forthcoming dissolution of the 46th Parliament, if the services provide such an information, it will be kept in the archives of the ad hoc committee and will be considered by the next National Assembly.
