Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Amruddin Haqshenas, administrative caretaker at the Bulgarian embassy in Kabul for many years, and his 15-member family, have been evacuated successfully.
He is the first Afghan citizen whose evacuation Bulgaria has assisted, by force of the government decision that Bulgaria shall accept up to 70 Afghan citizens and their families from Afghanistan.
Amruddin Haqshenas has worked at the Bulgarian embassy in Kabul since 1981. Thanks to his efforts the property of the Bulgarian state has been safeguarded at critical times in the history of Afghanistan.
