The winner of the John Atanasoff Grand Prize for 2021 is Dr. Venelin Todorov - Doctor of Mathematics from the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Algorithms developed by Todorov are used in modelling neural networks in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing in quantum mechanics and financial mathematics.
The John Atanasoff award is given annually to young Bulgarian scientists in the field of computer science with exceptional results.
