The district hospital in the town of Gabrovo urgently needs convalescent plasma used for the treatment of severely ill Covid-19 patients. 73 Covid-19 patients are being treated in the Covid-19 unit of the multi-profile hospital for active treatment in Gabrovo, which is the largest hospital in Gabrovo district.

“Due to the increased number of Covid-19 patients, we need more convalescent plasma for certain blood types”, the hospital’s director Minko Mihov said. Donors must be healthy, must not take medication on a regular basis and must present a document proving that they have had Covid-19. Stricter anti-epidemic measures were adopted in the district of Gabrovo in the beginning of this week, because the district was classified as a Covid-19 dark red zone.
