The Bulgaria National Football Team defeated Northern Ireland in a home world cup qualifier played on Vasil Levski stadium in Sofia. Northern Ireland took the lead in the first half. Bulgaria’s Todor Nedelev scored two goals in the second half of the match.

Bulgaria has a total score of 8 points and is 3 points ahead of the fourth team in Group C- Northern Ireland. Switzerland and Italy top the group with 14 points each. On November 15, Bulgaria will play an away game versus Switzerland, which will be the last world cup qualifier. However, Bulgaria does not stand a chance of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar even if it wins versus Switzerland.
