Opera star Sonya Yoncheva becomes UNICEF National Ambassador in Bulgaria

World-famous Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva has become a champion for children's rights. The talented opera singer is the new UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Bulgaria. "I grew up in Bulgaria and I have a strong personal commitment to the children in my homeland. I would like to show them that dreams can really come true if they believe in them," Yoncheva said.

With her strong commitment to children who need better education, access to services, mental health support, protection from violence and poverty, Sonya is a strong ally in achieving UNICEF's goals, UNICEF Representative to Bulgaria Christina Dorothea de Bruin, said.
