For the 18th consecutive year, the Bulgarian Red Cross will carry out the programme "Hot lunch at school for needy Bulgarian children." BGN 252,788 are the funds raised through corporate partners and individual donors. In the school year 2021/22, they will provide free hot food at school for 1,414 children from socially disadvantaged families in 19 districts of the country. The noble initiative helps children in need, especially in the severe winter months.

The programme, which started in 2004, has so far provided free food to over 20,000 needy children from all over Bulgaria. A total of 1,554,356 free lunches worth a total of BGN 3,108,712 were provided, the Bulgarian Red Cross said.
