29.1% of the Bulgarians eligible to vote have gone to the polls at the second round of the presidential election in Bulgaria as of 7 PM, according to data of Gallup International, the Bulgarian National Radio’s partner agency on election day. At 5 PM voter turnout stood at 25.1%, and at 3 PM – 20.5%.

At 1 PM the voter turnout stood at 15.5%. This percentage is slightly lower than the voter turnout at the same time during the first round, and a lot lower than at the presidential runoff 5 years ago, when it was 27%, Yanitsa Petkova from Gallup International says.

Data show that, as is usual, predominantly older people and hardcore supporters of the presidential candidates voted in the early hours of the day. More people in Sofia, younger people, as well as voters who make up their mind who to vote for at the last minute, are expected to go to the polls in the afternoon.
