Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte calls on us to pray for those who protect health and human life

In the ordeal of the pandemic, we have witnessed so much grief and pain of countless prematurely lost human lives. Let us be wise and good, let us pray for the doctors and for all those who fight for human health and preservation of human life. May God strengthen them, said the Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Neophyte, in the patriarchal address on the Nativity of Christ.

He urged the laity not to be seduced by the temptations of the world and not to allow their faith to be destroyed. "Suffering, pain and sorrow, which are still all around us today, should not make us doubt the truth of God's words, but in every trial should we see an opportunity to imitate Christ in the manifestation of that love of our neighbour which He Himself  shows us," the patriarch added.
