A festive liturgy for the Nativity of Jesus Christ was celebrated in all churches in the country. From the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia, Patriarch Neophyte blessed the Bulgarians for the great Christian holiday.

In a message to the faithful, the Patriarch called for "showing Christian love with our deeds - not only on this blessed day, but on all days of our lives!" "Let our thoughts and actions be constantly directed to all around us who are in need or in trouble, abandoned or rejected by society, suffering from one or another physical or spiritual suffering! Only then will we be able to truly and worthily welcome the Infant Jesus in our hearts and with bright joy to celebrate", the patriarch's message reads.
